The following is

zone. If you are a zone 10 resident and would like to have your name added to my

Last August I
sent the following message to folks in zone 10 ~ I received 42 responses -- 22
were against the idea and 20 were in favour...
"Hi All,
I received an
interesting call from a gal in B.C. who owns a Crested and intends to compete in
obed. She wants to send a motion to the obedience council with respect to
allowing dogs to compete in the obed ring while wearing sweaters/coats.
An item similar
to this was considered by the council a couple of years ago and was defeated. At
that time, the proposal was that handlers of small shortcoated dogs would be
permitted to bring a pad or blanket into the ring so the dog could do the stays
on it.
I told the caller
that I would conduct an informal poll in this zone in order to have a thorough
understanding on what the views of the majority are so that when it is next
considered by council, I'm clear on the wishes of the majority in this area.
I pointed out to
her that the motion should include all sizes of dogs and all weather conditions,
if we are going to open this up ~ i.e. cooler blankets would be permitted during
hot summer months and that any sized dog would be permitted to wear a sweater or
coat should the handler deemed one necessary.
Blankets and pads
would not be considered."

OBEDIENCE RULE CHANGE
SUGGESTIONS & RESPONSES
It
is my opinion is that not all those who have provided suggestions want to have
their names published. As a result, following each suggestion you’ll note a
code which enables me to track the author.
Suggested changes have been organized by topic. Responses can be readily
identified by matching the codes.
It
is the goal of each of us (Gin, Tubby and Jeff) to read and consider all
suggestions. If suggestions are put forward logically and respectfully, they
will be included on this website.
If
however, the writer simply wishes to fuss and fume and attack us without
providing constructive and positive suggestions, we will not post the message on
this website.
Additionally, this is not a “judge bashing” forum and those comments will not be
posted.
